Technology and clinical validation

Our technology

Bilieye’s technology transforms a standard smartphone camera into a precise, non-invasive bilirubin measurement device.
Using advanced AI, color-calibration algorithms, and ophthalmic imaging, the system analyzes the sclera of the newborn’s eye to estimate bilirubin levels without the need for painful heel-prick blood tests.
Our technology is designed to:
  • Reduce unnecessary blood tests
  • Support early detection of jaundice
  • Enable screening in hospitals, community clinics, and remote areas
  • Provide accurate, real-time results easily
  • Improve neonatal safety and reduce the risk of complications
Bilieye is currently undergoing multi-site clinical validation in Israel and India and is being prepared for regulatory pathways worldwide.

Clinical Validation

Bilieye is supported by large-scale clinical research conducted in leading hospitals in Israel and India.
Current and Past Studies Include:
  • 1500 newborns in a multi-center pilot in India
  • Bilateral trials in Schneider Medical Center and Galilee Medical Center
  • Adult bilirubin and hematocrit calibration studies
  • Agreement and ethical approvals from multiple hospitals and committees
  • Strong correlation results vs. blood tests (ongoing publication)
All studies follow international GCP standards and strict regulatory compliance.
